My name is Anastasia, I am
Russian but currently living in Italy. I have a passion for traveling
and learning languages, as well
as training and sharing my knowledge. These interests led me to teaching Russian
as a foreign language... but teaching is not exactly what I do. I don't
teach but share my knowledge and passion for the Russian culture and
language. I prefer to work through a friendly and continuous
dialogue because this is what learning a language is about, isn't
it?

MY METHODS
SKYPE. I
teach over Skype and I find it the most comfortable and time saving ways of
teaching. I prefer 1-hour lessons, but the duration can be adjusted to your
learning needs.
STRUCTURED LESSONS. For every lesson I prepare a program that is tailored
to your needs and a document/presentation with all the lesson’s content. It
makes it easier to communicate over Skype as we both see the same text and you
don’t need to rely only on the sound only.
INTERACTIVE. I like to make lessons interactive and use
entertaining pictures, videos, music etc.
CLOSE TO REALITY. I try to keep it as close to real life as possible.
Together with grammar and rules, I try to tell and show you more of the reality
of a life in Russia. For example, practicing real dialogues, learning how to
order from a real Russian menu, learning some words that you will never find in
a dictionary but you will hear every day in Russia and so on.
INTENSIVE LEARNING. I understand that most of the people looking for
private lessons want to achieve quick results. I adjust the course depending on
your needs and deadlines and try to progress it in a way that enables you start
speaking right away, without thinking too much about the grammar. Most of the
time during the lesson I speak Russian, so that you can get used to hearing the
language.
CULTURE IS JUST AS IMPORTANT. I think it is important to learn just as much of the
culture as the language. Without learning more about the Russian culture and
the mentality of Russians, you will not even be able to properly use such
simple phrases as “thank you”, “please” and “let’s have a cup of tea”! :-)
WHY ME?
I am an enthusiastic and a
friendly teacher and at the same time I like to have everything structured and
planned. I am absolutely against learning everything – every grammar rule and
every word in the textbook (it can take 10 years if you do so, but you don’t
need 10 years to start to speak Russian: few weeks are enough). Let’s learn
only what YOU need. I don’t like to do everything “by the book”, as it is too
far from real life. I am a very creative person and I like to use all
innovative tools, programs, websites and methods in my lessons. I try to create
a “learning space” that goes beyond our lessons, for example, you may be asked
to start to use your phone, computer and Facebook in Russian at some point! :-)

German. But during our lessons I will mostly speak Russian ;)

Finance & Law University

intercultural trainer (as a member of the pool of trainers of the European
Federation for Intercultural Learning)

experience in working and supporting young people from all over the world
coming to live and study in Russia with AFS (Intercultural Foundation).

INFORMAL
TUTORING
Tutoring is suitable if you already have some
knowledge of Russian, you want to practice the language and have your mistakes
corrected while speaking without too much grammar explanation. It is also
perfect for those who study Russian at school or university and need some help
with their homework. The big difference is that I don’t prepare “lessons” for
you, we have a spontaneous dialogue.
